Our 2021-2024 Strategy (PDF) demonstrates our commitment to being a workplace where people from all diverse communities are supported.

This includes our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Disability, Culturally and Linguistic Diverse (CALD), Carers, LGBTIQ+, Veterans, Women, and Ageing workforces.

The strategy also sets a framework for how we will support other emerging, diverse communities at HealthShare NSW over the coming years.

The Diversity Council works with all areas of the organisation to help develop, implement, and monitor initiatives that support HealthShare NSW’s diverse communities, fostering an inclusive workplace for all.

Who we partner with

We are members of:

  • Australian Breastfeeding Association – HealthShare NSW recognises the importance of breastfeeding for the health of infants and mothers. A supportive and flexible environment enables employees to continue breastfeeding in the workplace.
  • Australian Disability Network — a national organisation that helps employers to welcome people with disability in all aspects of business. HSNSW has a dedicated Disability and Access Inclusion Team that partners with AND on ensuring HSNSW is a disability inclusion workplace
  • Carers NSW - an employer support program that ensures an employer demonstrate carer friendly workplace practices. HSNSW is currently working towards being accreditation Level 1.
  • Pride in Diversity - an employer support program that encourages and enables Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) workplace inclusion. HSNSW is currently recognised as a Bronze Tier employer through the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI), a national benchmarking tool on LGBTIQ+ inclusion within the workplace.
  • Reconciliation Australia - support organisation that promotes and facilitates respect, trust and positive relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community. HSNSW has achieved Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in 2023 and working towards accreditation for the Innovate RAP
